Evidence for novel polaronic Fermi - liquid in doped oxides
The modern multi-polaron theory predicts a polaronic Fermi-liquid state, but such a state has not been unambigously confirmed by experiment so far. Here we report theoretical and experimental studies of the isotope effects on the low temperature kinetic properties of the doped ferromagnetic manganites. Our results provide clear evidence for a novel polaronic Fermi-liquid state in doped oxides. ...
متن کاملSpin transport in polaronic and superfluid Fermi gases
We present measurements of spin transport in ultracold gases of fermionic 6Li in a mixture of two spin states at a Feshbach resonance. In particular, we study the spin-dipole mode, where the two spin components are displaced from each other against a harmonic restoring force. We prepare a highly imbalanced, or polaronic, spin mixture with a spin-dipole excitation and we observe strong, unitarit...
متن کاملDirect observation of high-temperature polaronic behavior in colossal magnetoresistive manganites.
The temperature dependence of the electronic and atomic structure of the colossal magnetoresistive oxides La1-xSrxMnO3 (x=0.3, 0.4) has been studied using core and valence level photoemission, x-ray absorption and emission, and extended x-ray absorption fine structure spectroscopy. A dramatic and reversible change of the electronic structure is observed on crossing the Curie temperature, includ...

J. W. Reiner, L. Klein, A. Kapitulnik, T. H. Geballe, and M. R. Beasley Edward L. Ginzton Laboratories, Stanford University, Stanford, California 94305 (Received 13 March 1998) The reflectivity of the itinerant ferromagnet SrRuO3 has been measured between 50 and 25 000 cm21 at temperatures ranging from 40 to 300 K, and used to obtain conductivity, scattering rate, and effective mass as a functi...
متن کاملFermi Liquid Theory: Thermodynamics
I have chosen to use a spin notation of “up” or “down” with respect to a convenient z axis rather than a more rotationally invariant formulation. The quantity εp is not the same as in the interacting system, but can be expanded in the same way about p = pF εp = εF + vF (p − pF )+ · · · (3) where εF , vF are not the same as in the noninteracting system. The single quasiparticle energy does not d...
